2019 Coaching Symposium

Welcome to the 2019 PSPL Coaches Education Symposium!

We are proud to present Surf San Diego's Senior Coaching Director & Vice President Josh Henderson to headline this year's coaching event at Starfire Sports in Tukwila. Josh will be the keynote speaker on Friday, May 31 @ 7:30 pm at Starfire Sports.

On June 1, Josh will run two coaching education sessions for club officials, coaching directors and interested coaches based on Surf's new club soccer curriculum, or coaching manual.

Josh's lecture topic: the "State of Youth Soccer in America and How San Diego Surf Manages to Lead during Changing Times."

As one of the technical directors at one of the biggest youth soccer clubs in the nation, Josh is well-positioned to discuss events happening at the national level - the DA v ECNL - as well as the state and local levels. He will touch on the larger trends - such as where competitive soccer is heading and explain Surf's "player-centered" development model.

"It’s an honor to be able to work with PSPL to help their organization and their coaches understand the ever changing landscape of youth soccer," says Henderson. "To be invited to share my expertise, run training sessions and offer a Q&A to the coaches is an exceptional opportunity, and I’m glad to share my expertise with the new generation of soccer.

"PSPL has been an extremely important parter to Surf Sports, as they provide us access to a great number of clubs and players in the Pacific Northwest," Henderson added. "We’re just scratching the surface of what our two organizations can accomplish together."

It promises to be an informative and provocative conversation for all who can attend!
